If you’re not expecting gifts, this should also be announced. While some people may try to bring them regardless, announcing it will help reduce any awkward or confrontational situations.

This is a great option for longer events or parties with close friends and families. Games can help keep the fun going to prevent the party from becoming boring. 

Fun games include things such as trivia, word unscrambles or even scavenger hunts, if you feel comfortable with your guests roaming your home. You can even make the game home-themed to add to the housewarming atmosphere. These games aren’t only just a good way to make your guests feel comfortable and to ensure they have a good time — they also give you the chance to show off your new home.

You can also do “white elephant” and other related games to give back to your guests. While the main objective of the party is to show off your home, you can also use this time to show your appreciation for your support system.
